A record player, also known as a turntable or phonograph, is a home audio front-end source component used for playing music from analog vinyl media. The most well-known and common medium is the 12" (30cm) 33⅓ rpm long-play (LP) record.
Record players enjoyed popularity through to the early 1980s, when they were largely replaced by Compact-Disc (CD) players. In the present day (2000s), record players still enjoy popularity in limited niche markets: high-end home audio (in the belt-drive configuration), and DJ-ing (in the direct-drive configuation).
Lost
- A record player was discovered in "The Hatch" aka The Swan, along with a library of LP records and other 70's paraphenilia such as a lava lamp and computer hardware of that era.
- At least two record players have been depicted in the show, one with a silver colored front facade, and the other with a taller wooden one.
