* Is apparently under the control of [[the Others]], as [[Sayid]] comments that the batteries in Rousseau's camp could not power a 16-year distress signal. She says that it "broadcasts from somewhere else - but they control it now." This does seem strange, however, as the Others could theoritically just disable Rousseau's message at any time, and she also later says that she's never seen them (but somehow knows they control the radio tower).

Random Picture of Radio Tower

Mast

This building was found through the Lost Experience. Could it be the Radio Tower?

  • Rousseau mentioned that there was a radio tower on the island
  • It is located near the Black Rock.
  • It originally broadcasted The Numbers.
  • Rousseau changed the transmission to her distress signal.
  • Not directly mentioned on the Blast Door Map
  • Is apparently under the control of the Others, as Sayid comments that the batteries in Rousseau's camp could not power a 16-year distress signal. She says that it "broadcasts from somewhere else - but they control it now." This does seem strange, however, as the Others could theoretically just disable Rousseau's message at any time, and she also later says that she's never seen them (but somehow knows they control the radio tower).

Theories

  • Since all of the DHARMA bunkers thus far have been underground/concealed, it may be possible that the radio tower and its facility might not be related to DHARMA.
    • It would have to be above ground and visible in the skyline nearby to operate.
    • However, it may be camouflaged or disguised to look like something else.
  • Could be part of Dharmatel, broadcasting the Numbers to attract people to the island.
  • Since it's located near the Black Rock might it be connected to the death of Magnus Hanso.
  • May have been built by another party before the arrival of DHARMA, or by The Others after the DHARMA Initiative abandoned the island.
  • May be the giant four-toed statue of a foot that Sun, Jin and Sayid saw in Live Together, Die Alone.
  • Could be the location of an Others camp (evidence for this from Rousseau's words that 'they control it now').
  • May be a separate station. Candidates for its location include:
    • The Flame
    • The Aborted #7 station
    • The "?" (Assuming that this is not The Pearl)
    • One of the various "CV"'s around the island
    • At least part of The Statue
    • The rock formation above the false door
