Part of the Lost Experience, Rachel Blake (aka Persephone) is a woman investigating the Hanso Foundation. A video of her was first revealed on June 16 in a comment at Speaker's site. The video was posted on monster.com, but was removed later.

The in-game reveal of the Rachel Blake character and website came on June 19 as part of the source code in thehansofoundation.org. Her website http://www.rachelblake.com was revealed featuring a blog about her holiday travels in Denmark. However, a secret section of the site can be accessed by entering the password evident agenda in the "extra info" box (this password was discovered through Persephone's site). This takes visitors to Rachel's hidden blog concerning her efforts to expose the Hanso Foundation.

There was much debate over whether Rachel Blake was actually the hacker Persephone, with different authorities saying different things, such as The Lost Ninja saying they were the same, but Speaker arguing they weren't. New evidence was revealed on June 22nd on the letyourcompassguideyou.com site to support the theory, however, where a hidden text transcript of an internet conservation was found in the trash section (see OpenersHep Conversation). User OpenersHep refers to herself as 'Rachel B', and it was noted that OpenersHep is an anagram of Persephone, giving weight to the identity theory.

Finally, in her third Iceland post, Rachel confirmed that she was in fact Persephone, after weeks of speculation.

I'm booking my ticket right now.

And, I've gotta tell you. All of you. If Mittelwerk REALLY has these mathematicians from the Vik Institute working with the Valenzetti Equation... if those savants were really running the damn thing 24/7, then I think we're all in serious trouble.

And, I'm not one for drama.

And, I know our info comes from a dead writer with no research or book to back up his claims... and a random guest on a podcast known to exaggerate.

But, if it does predict the END OF THE WORLD, and if it does have to be running all the time, what happens when the Valenzetti Equation STOPS?

Does Mittelwerk know something we don't?

I'd better find out.

Thanks for all your creative thinking on the glyphs (but why does it all seem to come back around to "Die?") and with proposals for our "team" name. "Percepticons," "Hanso Hunters," "The Blake Brigade" -- we're all these things. But, more than ever I have to believe, I have to HOPE... that we're friends.

Because, in this moment, with the nasty turn things have just taken... we've got to hold the line.

Armand Zander is MISSING.

I went by the Vik Institute. His car wasn't in the lot. I went by his house. The place was surrounded by cops. And reporters.

Rumor has it, they think Zander set the fire. Word has it from his superiors, he's been unhappy for some time. On edge. Writing threatening letters.

This stinks of Mittelwerk. Zander was our key to understanding what those mathematicians were doing with that equation, how those hieroglyphs, how their MEANING, fit into it. He stuck his neck out -- and he paid the price. I'm so sorry, Zander.

And of course, Mittelwerk has vanished in the night once again... Where could he have gone? GidgetGirl?

Well, let's think about it.

LOGIC would dictate Mittelwerk's run off somewhere safe, rather than face the scrutiny the fire has brought to bear.

LOGIC would dictate, now that his cover's blown, Mittelwerk's setting up another savant sweatshop to crunch that equation. But, in my gut, neither of those scenarios feels right. And, I'll tell you why:

Oh, that Valenzetti Equation. Gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling, doesn't it? The more I hear about it, the more I agree with you guys... this just has to have SOMETHING to do with Mittelwerk's mystery equation. Now, first off... in case you're wondering, in case you hadn't figured it out already -- yeah, that was me who called in to DJ Dan's show.

Sorry I wasn't straight with you from the get-go, but I just couldn't cop to hacking a DANISH WEBSITE while I was in Denmark. But, now that I'm out of the country, I feel like I owe you guys the truth.

That having been said...

Did you hear it? The part that made me think twice? You see, DJ Dan's guest, this mathematical forecaster, he says something REALLY interesting. He says Valenzetti died but in the next breath tells us the REAL TRUTH without realizing it himself: Valenzetti merely disappeared.

And "disappeared" doesn't equal dead in my book.

So, what if with his equation disrupted, with his formulations possibly destroyed by the fire, what if the reason Mittelwerk took off like a bat out of hell is that he's going to find Enzo Valenzetti? Crazy, right? Of course, it begs the question: WHERE?

So, that's my best theory. Let me know your thoughts - have I ignored my own warnings? Am I completely off the mark with this Valenzetti Equation? GidgetGirl, it's time to earn those contributor privileges. Can YOU tell us anything? (And, since we're giving out names, care to share yours?)

Theories

Rachel Blake could be an anagram for Able Hacker, although there are two "L"s in Rachel Blake
Another theory is that Rachel Blake could be an anagram for Bella Hacker, as this fits the letter count
Rachel Blake could be the partner of Tom Brennan, as in the episode Born to Run Kate looks at family pictures on Tom's fridge which show a young woman with dark hair as well as a baby. Tom says the baby is called Connor, and when Kate says "he's beautiful", Tom replies "well thats from Rachel."
- Tom worked as a doctor and so, if he had connections to the Hanso Foundation, Rachel could have investigated them after his death.
- Basing on Kate, Tom does seem to like tough girls. He's also quite a match to Rachel as a character, as he is described as a little nerdy (which Rachel is arguably a little herself due to her many Star Wars, Alias etc references in her blogs/videos).
Rachel's search for answers about Hanso/Dharma will lead her to the island during Season 3.
- Though in relation to the timeline, Rachel's search is taking place almost approximately two years ahead of the 'LOST present'
  - Maybe she will appear in flashbacks.
Rachel has met Thomas Mittlewerk in the past (evidence for this could be from Post 005's video, where Mittlewerk almost recognises her).
It's possible that she is the one referred to in the hidden message at the Mathematical Forecasting Initiative page. It states that "she" was an employee of the Foundation. Perhaps she was a personal assistant to Alvar Hanso himself, thus her concern for him. It would make sense that Mittelwerk would have recognized her had she been an assistant because Alvar would probably have meetings with Mittelwerk and she would have seen him there. It would also have allowed her acess to the Hanso Foundation's website and add on her own hacks.--TheLostHunter 21:01, 1 July 2006 (PDT)
It's Possible that she developed a crush/obsession with Mittlewerk when she was working for Hanso.. or possibly before leading her to work for Hanso.. Evidence for this is in a comment she made in her video blog "he smells like Pine Trees"
- This seems like a bit of a stretch as Rachel's aim is to destroy him, and the comment was more a passing joke.
