The Old Xerox building is a 32,600-square-foot property in Honolulu that formerly housed the soundstage for indoor sets in season 1 and season 2 for the Cave scenes. It is used in all but one of the episodes between:
- 1x05 "White Rabbit" - 2x02 "Adrift"
The Old Xerox Building is the informal name of this property because it formerly housed the offices of the Xerox Corporation. The building had been the site of an infamous 1999 mass murder of seven employees, and Xerox soon left the property (moving to the Kakaako area of Honolulu), which had lain vacant ever since until the coming of Lost five years later in 2004. It is speculated that Lost therefore obtained favorable lease rates due to the stigma of the crime. Lost's soundstage and offices have since moved to the Hawaii Film Studio.
The Old Xerox Building is located at:
1200 N. Nimitz Hwy.
Honolulu, HI 96817
It is nearby the former offices of Grass Skirt Productions in the Dole Cannery Shops. These offices have since also moved to the Hawaii Film Studio.
