The Nun appears in the first flashback of the Eko centric episode, The Cost of Living. She forced Eko to confess after he stole food to feed his young brother, Yemi. The Nun was portrayed by actress Aisha Hinds.
As a young boy, Mr. Eko broke into a supply shed by pounding the lock off. He grabbed a handful of crackers from the basket inside and handed it to Yemi.
Eko and Yemi are discovered by the nun.
Eko reassured his young borther that it was okay to eat which prompted Yemi to tear open the packaging. As he began to devour the snack, Eko spotted someone walking towards them. It was a nun from the local church.
The Nun took the sinful children to the chapel where she sat them down a pewbench. She motioned for Eko to go confront the priest as another woman left the confessional. Eko refused to move from his seat. "Did you hear me? Go! Confess that you have stolen," the nun raged. Mr. Eko retorted that Yemi was hungry. The nun replied that it was no excuse; hunger did not matter. He had sinned and needed to ask God for forgiveness. Eko began to inch towards the clergyman, only to steal a glance in Yemi's direction. "Confess!" the nun shouted.
