Michael Giacchino's musical score for Lost makes use of numerous recurring motifs. This article covers motifs that recur rarely, appear on no soundtrack release or lack a character or setting association. For a comprehensive list of themes and motifs, see musical themes.
Crash Motif
- Lost begins. ("Pilot, Part 1")
- Jack looks toward the wreckage before venturing in for supplies. ("Tabula Rasa")
- In a Previously on Lost recap, Charlie takes heroin in the plane and experiences the crash. ("House of the Rising Sun")

Suspense Motif

The "wreck motif" plays when two wrecks are revealed - the Black Rock and Oceanic 815. It is a variation of the series' mystery theme.

The Discovery Theme plays during several scenes in which the survivors discover new areas or objects.

Meeting the Enemy
This four-note motif characterizes the survivors' distrust of several enemies.
