I know people often ask about this, so I've made this page. Hope I didn't step on anyone's toes! I won't add links to it til I get feedback on it. Sorry, I'd write more but gotta go to work like 5 mins ago! --Nickb123 (Talk) 02:59, 9 August 2006 (PDT)

  • You might want to mention that most Sysops (excluding Jajasoon and Chrisbliss) can check and see if a single IP adress has more than one usernames.--CaptainInsano
Under the block section, yeah I'll put it in --Nickb123 (Talk) 11:41, 9 August 2006 (PDT)

Cheers. Still think GEOH will rip it apart though --Nickb123 (Talk) 11:46, 9 August 2006 (PDT)

This is a good page. I'll review it some more later and I'm sure GEOH will make some contributions as well.    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 12:19, 9 August 2006 (PDT)

Nice work Nick! This is very helpful. --Admin 04:32, 12 September 2006 (PDT)

Power vs. ability

I have meditated on the contents of this article and I have been pondering if the word power is appropiate. That word implies we have some kind of might whileas we are just regular users with access to some other functions and I think that is the tone we want to maintain. We are not special despite I refer to ourselves as the Almighty. I like the tone and I think this change will make it more neutral. I aso added a section about what a sysop is not. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 05:04, 21 August 2006 (PDT)

I think you're misreading what is meant by "power" here - I think of it more like the power to melt people's faces using our minds. I think clear explanation that we have those is needed, to better inspire fear & awe... </sarcasm> --Jajasoon 05:35, 21 August 2006 (PDT)
I'll level with you guys. I used "power" because I'd used "ability" and what not too many times, and couldn't think of any other synonym --Nickb123 (Talk) 06:18, 21 August 2006 (PDT)
My point exactly. There are two ways; Saying that we the sysops are mighty and saying we are not. I'd rather say we are not that special.--†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 07:37, 21 August 2006 (PDT)
