Just out of curiosity, for someone who doesn't mind being spoiled and reads the spoilers that come out: has this season's (season 5) finale been spoiled? I don't want to know what the spoilers are, but if they're out there then I wouldn't mind knowing just so that I can be more careful to avoid them. {{User:Jimbo the tubby/sig}} 06:06, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

*Something that could be concidered a major twist has been leaked, yes. Not a play-by-play spoiler like we've gotten in the past years, but then again, I guess there is still time for that. --[[User:LeoChris|LeoChris]] 06:22, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Revision as of 06:22, 2 May 2009

Propose 21 day limit till season 5 finale end

I propose only Wikia accounts that have been active for at least 21 days (signed up before 7th April 2009 at the time of writing) will be able to edit the wiki until the end of the Season 5 finale (at which point, accounts signed up before 22nd April 2007 would be able to edit, those after this date would not be) . This will limit the vandalism that has occurred regarding spoilers on Lostpedia, and will allow the vast majority of responsible users to continue editing Lostpedia till the end of the season without any interruption. Please give your opinion below for consensus. -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  08:24, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

EDIT: To be lifted the moment the season finale finishs broadcast on the East coast of the United States. -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  09:04, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
someone remember to leave me a message when that happens --Uberfuzzy 01:27, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Consensus

Yes -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  08:24, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes Unfortunate, but necessary. Btw, you mean "able to edit the wiki", right? -- Graft   talk   contributions  08:34, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes Similar plan to last year's, which worked fairly well. --Blueeagleislander 09:03, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes, better than last year's plan IMO. --Orhan94 12:33, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes - A few rotten apples can and have spoiled us in the past. This should prevent single-purpose/troll accounts from being created to spoil or vandalize the wiki during the weeks leading up to the finale.    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 14:50, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes - It's a good, simple and effective idea. --   Dee4leeds  talk  contribs  all  16:21, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes This needs to be done. Otherwise many of us will be unintentionally spoiled in the upcoming weeks. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 22:51, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

page needed

just to let you know, the message that tells people they cant edit, links to Lostpedia:Autoconfirmed_users. you may want to put something on that page letting people know what a auto-confirmed user is. and maybe a link to this protection page. --Uberfuzzy 19:46, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
