Lostpedia:Quotes within articles (rejected)

Quotes within articles is a proposed method of adding to Lostpedia. It is a policy in progress. Here is what it would basically consist of if it is institutionalized.

What it is

Quotes within articles is a template that would go atop articles. It would list a quote from the show, who said it, and what episode it was in. For example:

"If we can't live together, we're going to die alone." -Jack Shephard, "White Rabbit."

This specific quote would go atop Jack Shephard's page.

Articles

Here are some of the quotes that would be used and on what articles.

• Quotes specific to the main characters on their pages.
• An important episode quote for episode pages. (Specifically, if the name is said in the episode, we could use that quote)
• A quote that represents a specific theme on theme pages.

It would be preferable to not do much more than the examples given. We do not want to put it atop every page, for that would most likely be too overwhelming.

Alternative Placement

There has been some debate as to where to put the quotes. It was originally thought to be one quote per article, at the very top. For examples of the alternative placements given, please see the talk page.

General

• A little box can be made with the quote inside to take the place of a picture.

Character pages

• A change can be made to the infobox template to include a space for the quote in the infobox.
• Or, several quotes can be placed throughout the article, one for each season synopsis for the character.

Episode pages

• Like the suggestion for the character pages, a change can be made to the infobox template to include a space for the quote in the infobox.
