Entry #5

Artist John Resig
Logo: Logo jeresig 1
Comments: A shot of the island, black-and-white, good for a shirt. You can see a screenshot of it in action here.

Oooo. I really like that one in action. I like that it's clear and not in color! --MaNiFeX 14:32, 24 April 2006 (PDT)

Entry #6

Artist Mark Adams
Logo: Logo crystalskull 1
Comments: Royalty free photo of Oahu, round seemed obvious to me as in the vein of the original wikipedia logo...

CrystalSkull 10:24, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

Good logo, but you may want to resubmit as Lostpedia.com not .net. --    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   12:55, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

Thanks for pointing that out, it's been fixed. CrystalSkull 22:40, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

Entry #8

Artist Aurora-glacialis
Logo: Logo Aurora-glacialis 1
Comments: I thought it was a pretty good logo and it was proposed as a replacement a long while ago. †††GodEmperorOfHell††† --13:56, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

The Logo is made in Photoshop. It has a transparent background and of course it it 100% home-made and royalty-free. It intentionally reminds of the old lostpedia/wikipedia logo without actually using material from it.--aurora glacialis 14:11, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

Entry #10

Artist Zeitgeist
Logo: Logo zeitgeist 3
Comments: Well, third attempt. This one DEFINITELY isn't copyrighted (image from http://gimp-savvy.com/PHOTO-ARCHIVE/)

Entry #14

Artist ToMA
Logo: Logo ToMA 1
Comments: Inspired by oceanicair815 website + octagon, clear LOSTPEDIA, mysterious island I marks the hatch

--ToMA 17:51, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

Entry #15

Artist baytownbud
Logo: Logo baytownbud 1
Comments: Transparent background (it looks grey; but it really isn't) derived from the opening title mixed with the numbers, the question mark on the hatch map, and the octagon. A screenshot test can be seen here.

--baytownbud 20:28, 15 April 2006 (CST)

Entry #21

Artist User:Tanto
Logo: http://st00pidly.googlepages.com/logo_tanto.png/logo_tanto-full.png
Comments: Everything is Royalty-free. Mainly because only one image was used and was taken from GIMP savvy. I wanna wish luck to everyone in the contest

Entry #28

Artist Charliesfate

Entry #31

Artist User:ptosis
Logo: Logo ptosis 1
Comments: I'm not copying anybody! I already thought of the idea of the Cereal Box Logo when I noticed it don't quite match up with the regular IChing design. I already thought up the question mark also but somebody already put it up before me. Logo is all mine - it's just not unique

Entry #32

Artist User:ptosis
Logo: Logo ptosis 2
Comments: Here is a 3 color example of the differences in the two logos. The yellow breaks in the solid lines are those that are supposed to be broken and the red bars on the broken lines are those that are supposed to be solid. Now need to figure out the I-Ching meaning of the yarrow sticks and what the differences mean.

Entry #37

Artist User:roeizzz
Logo: http://www.lostpedia.com/images/d/d5/Logo_roeizzz_4.gif
Comments: this is an improvment of the logo I sent before.

in short : WE ARE THE TRUELY LOST PEOPLE. our community and the logo is all about us. trying to be like them (posing the same but its us) and finding comfort in this site (or not...). the colors are same as the wikipedia pages. (blue for links).

You can see a screenshot of how it looks HERE.

Comments: Photo made with the gimp, original is a palm tree desktop that comes with windows XP. Im not sure if i got the background to be truley transparent as I'm not very good with the gimp, though ive had it for a year and a half. Entry #50

Artist User:Steven_D
Logo: Logo steven D 1Logo steven D 2
Comments: Idea : The Island is a big jigsaw puzzle, Lostpedia helps fitting the pieces together. PS :I designed everything myself. If you look closer, this image was uploaded yesterday so I didn't steal z0n3's idea.

Simple, yet incorporates graphics from both LOST (the island) and wiki (the jigsaw pattern) well, without infringing on copyrights of either. If you have time, I'd love to see a slightly different one with more 3-D effect and clear background (it's supposed to be transparent for submission). Well done, one of my favorites! -Pandora

more 3-D effect just like u asked for, the first one was actualy transparant .png, but that's hard to tell on a white background...The third one is just the second logo "in action". [logo in full action here] -Steven_D

Artist User:Toddibear
Logo: Logo toddibear 1
Comments: I love some of the ideas out here, but think that occasionally, the simple and direct approach can be best. Figured it would be easy to use and easy to identify at any size and distance -- so if you wanted to use it for T-shirts, make it large for other reasons, or even use it for a pattern as a wood carving, you would be good to go!(Toddibear 15:30, 18 April 2006 (EDT))

Artist User:Melodrama
Logo: Logo melodrama 1
Comments: Thought that something simple might be easier on the eyes for everyday viewing. This is the first of a few versions I've created. (Melodrama 02:27, 19 April 2006 (PDT))

Entry #62

Artist User:Mark 2000
Logo: Logo mark 2000 1
Comments: If this is chosen I'd like to replace the generic wiki flower background with rusty metal plating.--Mark 2000 01:29, 19 April 2006 (PDT)
Your logo is really great man, but the second title "the complete lost resource" is wrong because lostpedia still not have the complete resource of lost, but the users was trying.

Hey, I think a good tagline not only for this one, but for all logos would be: "The missing lost resource", or a bit of fancyness, "The ever growing missing lost resource." -Vanylapep

Artist User:Aurora-glacialis
Logo: Logo aurora glacialis 2Logo aurora glacialis 2a
Comments: A variation of the dome-logo with Dhamra-type Letters and the obviously very much liked octagon shape (of course again royalty free. If the design appears too dark, I can of course lighten it up (vers 2a). --aurora glacialis 10:38, 19 April 2006 (PDT)

Entry #65

Artist User:oedipus
Logo: Logo oedipus 1
Comments: Considering that the winning logo will also be placed on t-shirts, hats, etc., this one is best since it's easily identifiable from a distance, uses loud, basic colors and is not so overloaded with detail that would render it illegible from 10 yards away. The color scheme would look great as a logo on a t-shirt as well as adorning your Wednesday morning latte cup.--oedipus 16:24, 19 April 2006 (PDT)

This one is best, is it? Do you really like the way Photoshop's "smoothify" feature jaggedized your corners, though? Jus' askin'. (Aerogami 20:56, 20 April 2006 (PDT))

Entry #68

Artist User:Tones25
Logo: Logo Tones25 1
Comments: This logo is simple and easy on the eye for everyday use, as well as colorful. The beach gives us a familiar place, and the hexagonal shape relates to how the island is possibly set up as far as the hatches go, as well as connecting as a whole like this site ( bringing in lots of information to give you all the shows info). The logo was done with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and infringes on no fonts or images. Fonts are Impact and Arial.

One of my favorites. (Aerogami 13:30, 20 April 2006 (PDT))

Entry #70

Artist User:koolaidman
Logo: Logo koolaidman 4
Comments: I went with something a bit different, trying to keep the image a simple as possible, then I added the fire in the back because it shows up a lot in lost. I'm still not sure if tha background is truely see-thru. Koolaidman 15:16, 20 April 2006 (PDT)

Comments: It's nothing special. I guess it's not the perfect decision, but it showed up in my head as an idea and I hope it's really like a book clipping

P.S. Actually the idea is that Lostpedia is like book about Lost... and some person (or not) tore a piece of page 42 to remember something maybe...

Entry #83

Artist User:Pete
Logo: Logo pete 1
Comments: Hey Folks!

Here's my first draft for the contest.
I've chosen a quite simple and clean 'book metaphor' to visualize the encyclopedia and joined the typo with some decorating graphics.
Hope you enjoy it...good luck to everybody!
Pete (Pete 26 april)

very cool your logo, but why you put a hemp in the book??? --z0n3
:: Hemp? :) No! Just a few leaves out of the jungle... Thnx for commendation!

Entry #84

Artist User:Pete
Logo: Logo pete 2
Comments: "LostPedia Message In A Bottle" is my second draft for the contest.

A message in a bottle, the island sourrounded by the pacific and some typo... very clean and reduced graphics and just two colors for that logo.
FINAL EDIT: Now the waves have a rough style (like teeth...and maybe you can imagine there is also a shark fin :>), the blackrock territorium got a tower and the subline changed. hmm, the green is a bit greener now :) Hope you like that stuff.
Pete (Pete 26 april)

Artist Leflyman
Logo: Logo leflyman 1
Comments: Something I whipped up, which draws inspiration from the Wikipedia Logo (but is wholly original) as well as the Bagua used by Dharma, and includes the Eye of Horus as an homage to the use of eyes in the series, and the hieroglyphs on the "timer". If you squint, you might also see the faint appearance of yin-yang in the "puzzle ball". (It could do with some touch-up, but I'm throwing it up as-is for now) —Leflyman 19:26, 26 April 2006 (PDT)

Entry #93

Artist User:Pete
Logo: Logo pete 4
Comments: The compass and its meanings like orientation, magnetism, directions and navigation is an important symbol on the lost island and also on a page like this, where informations about facts and secrets wait to be discovered...
So the compass is the main theme in my fourth logo draft. Have a closer look to the compass rose: instead of the directions N-E-S-W (N-O-S-W in German) you can read L-O-S-T. Also there is a octagon with an eye inside... just to have some more mystic lost stuff in it... ;)
Its all done in 3D and finished in Photoshop.

Entry #96

Artist User:BC
Logo: Logo BC 1
Comments: You may think I'm crazy, but I think the logo should relate to the show (unlike many of the ideas in the other logos that have been submitted). I also believe that the logo should be as iconic-ally broad as possible, since we still have no idea how deep the rabbit hole goes or how far the effects of the events in the show will reach. Therefore, with these guidelines, I realized that the title of the show would be the best choice to pull from, since it is non-specific to any one aspect of the show, yet still communicates the feeling of mystery that this show is all about. I created this from scratch, photoshop only. It is a transparent .gif, with the top and bottom parts being the transparent areas. -- BC 13:50, 27 April 2006 (PDT)

Entry #105

Artist quincunx
Logo: Logo quincunx 2
Comments: Ideal for searching and finding what you want to know about LOST
Wouldn't be better not to copy other ideas...? This is my opinion, but I think that something unique and original would be the best decision. Good luck anyway:)--unearthly

Comments: The circular visual represents the sun and the sea which is a view from the island. The 'sparkles' around draws the ways of the dharma hexagon and also can be thought as the dharma satelite moving around the circle as earth. I did with photoshop no violation of copyrights. 19:00, 30 April 2006 (GMT+2)
Artist kennisrussell
Logo: Logo kennisrussell 2
Comments: This is not the Darma logo, it has been changed in order to prevent copyright issues. The logo is 150 x 150 and the backgroung is transparent. It is pretty simple, but I think that it works well for this great site.

Entry #120

Artist WALLACE
Logo: Logo WALLACE 1
Comments: This is my take on an ideal logo for your site. I wanted to keep the floating letters from the show, while using the black smoke as an abstract symbol for the mysteries of the island. I thought about using a map or a puzzle theme, but it seemed a bit too obvious.

Entry #127

Artist User:Bill
Logo: Logo Bill 4
Comments: Another minimalist approach. The concentric rings have 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42 segments. Pretty much the same selling points as my earlier logo:
  • No copyrighted images
  • No reverse-engineering of copyrighted images (such as DHARMA designs)
  • No use of current themes that are likely to become "dated" as the series progresses
  • Use of 4-8-15-16-23-42 theme is intended to be obvious to Lost veterans without spoiling anything for newbies

This entry is, again, intentionally minimalist, in an attempt to avoid imagery that may become out of date later on. I really enjoy some of the other entries from an aesthetic standpoint, but I wonder if, two or three years down the road, images such as messages in a bottle and the swan will be a distant memory in the series. I speculate that 4-8-15-16-23-42 will always remain a current theme on the show. (Bill 1 May)
