We already have Mr. Friendly for this week.

LostPedia:Featured article for 2006, week 22 (May 29-Jun 4)[]

Suggest articles under here, and eventually reach a decision. Like The Hatch for instance. Thunderbird 20:47, 23 May 2006 (PDT)

I suggest Joop. because monkeys are always funny. †††GodEmperorOfHell††† --20:51, 23 May 2006 (PDT)
I dunno, the whole article, especially the theories seem kind of silly. :) Thunderbird 20:55, 23 May 2006 (PDT)
I would suggest next week should be the finale episode's article, seeing as we won't have lost for a few months after that, and we'll be chewing it over viciously until S03E01 in October --plkrtn 08:26, 24 May 2006 (PDT)
Btw, I'm not sure if I mentioned this or not, but once the article has been decided (preferably at least a few days before Sunday/Monday midnight UTC, around Sunday evening NA time), just create the article at the link already provided, and it's set up on the main page to automatically be replaced. Thunderbird 00:15, 27 May 2006 (PDT)
How about a recap of the "scoreboard" - what mysteries have been solved, which new ones were posed? Dmuk § 00:43, 27 May 2006 (PDT)
Since we're down to the last three hours, I made the FA for this week. FAs should generally be made well ahead of time, preferably at least a two or three week buffer, so feel free to get to work on the next two or three featured articles. Thunderbird 15:33, 28 May 2006 (PDT)

LostPedia:Featured article for 2006, week 23 (Jun 5-11)[]

Since nobody else recommended an article for this week, I chose The "Monster". I also added a link to this page from the main page section since I think nobody knew it was here.

LostPedia:Featured article for 2006, week 24 (Jun 12-18)[]

I know it's early, but I nominate "Henry Gale" for week 24, as he's suddenly been thrust into this very important position by the finale. Plus it's an excellent article. - Cappsy
I nominate Our Mutual Friend. Not a long bloated article but it's to the point. Since it was featured prominently in 2x23-2x24, FA status would let some more casual readers to learn more about it, and it segues nicely into more information on the Desmond / Penny / Charles W. storyline  Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk 14:16, 4 June 2006 (PDT)

I second this nomination. Nothing against Henry Gale, but I think this is a good hopping off point for the less popular pages. Anyone feel like writing a one paragrapher on this for the front page?
Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 20:51, 4 June 2006 (PDT)
Looks good. I hope you don't mind but I tweaked the last sentence and added it to the article page for week 24. Now on to Week 25!
Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 17:55, 8 June 2006 (PDT)

I nominate The Pearl. Now that's a well written article, worthy of an encyclopedia. --Peephole 12:27, 5 June 2006 (PDT)

LostPedia:Featured article for 2006, week 25 (Jun 19-25)[]

  • I know this is early, but I nominate Desmond's article, since the finale has pushed him into a greater importance. Since his backstory was just recently revealed as well, I believe this would be a good featured article. It's also quite well written, in my opinion.

--Aero*Zeppelin 19:58, 5 June 2006 (PDT)

My vote goes to DJ Dan because his podcasts are really fun to listen to, plus what we found out during the 6/8 podcast leads to a lot more theorizing about DJ Dan. Where he is, why the site seems to not match the podcast info, etc... Valenzetti 15:02, 11 June 2006 (PDT)

I second Dj Dan. He's just way too hilarious to be ignored. --Peephole 17:37, 17 June 2006 (PDT)
  • There has just been a major overhaul to the article on Stephen King. His involvement is a much debated subject. The article provides factual references with theories. For those who like to speculate theorize and LOVE rumors it is good research.--Jasoncarubia 07:27, 13 June 2006 (PDT)
  • I'm going to nominate Sins of the Islanders as I think its quite a quirky little article that deserves a bit of recognition (its quite an in-depth account of all sins committed throughout the show) --Nickb123 08:37, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
  • The James Patterson article had a major overhaul. He is believed to be the TRUE author/ghostwriter of Bad Twin. It might be a good idea to put this site as the site of the week. That mystery is SO CLOSE to being solved!--Jasoncarubia 16:27, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
  • Once again nobody wrote an article for this week. I don't think the articles nominated represent the best of what the wiki has to offer, IMHO. The article on Desmond, for example, is good, but is mostly just bullet points. It needs to have an introductory section and summary at the top.

How about the Statue, which has been given a major facelift recently? --Y2mckay 10:15, 6 June 2006 (PDT)
I vote for Joop for the simple reason that there is nothing funnier than a monkey. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 17:59, 8 June 2006 (PDT)

    • I could be wrong, but I believe that technically speaking: orangutans are not, in fact, monkeys. However nothing is funnier than a monkey except an ape smoking a pipe.

 Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk 00:53, 15 June 2006 (PDT)

    • LOL, bit pet peeve of mine also, everyone calling orangs monkeys... but I think GodE was just trying to be funny and knew the difference. :) So I vote for Joop also (if regular users can vote)... if for no other reason than to keep reminding people that Joop is an ape... stop de-evolving him! --PandoraX 04:01, 21 June 2006 (PDT)

My vote is for for Danielle Rousseau--CaptainInsano

  • David LaChapelle US/Canada viewers are generally not aware of the UK promo videos (featuring the actual cast dancing on the beach) which are of general interest. Other international viewers are also likely unaware of these. Therefore a front page feature will introduce these to the casual fan viewing the front page of Lostpedia. This article is also a way to introduce the meaning of the new Deuterocanon Template (and possibly the Lostpedia:Canon policy article) to more advanced editors. -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk 15:05, 13 June 2006 (PDT)
    • TEXT: " David LaChapelle is a director and photographer known for music videos and fashion media. LaChapelle was commissioned to create the Lost promotional video for the UK's launch and broadcast of Lost on Channel 4. This video was shot in March 2005, and featured the actors from the main cast paired as dancing partners. The original version was set to music by Portishead, while the final version which aired featured a voiceover by the cast members. While familiar to UK viewers, these videos are generally not known to viewers in other countries around the world. For Lostpedia editors, this article is an example of the use of the Deteurocanon Template, to mark Lost content that is marginally canonical, in contrast to outright parodies that are indisputably non-canon. Editors are encouraged to join the ongoing policy discussion on Lostpedia's working definition of Lost's Canon. "
Note: I also wanted to wikify "video" to link visitors to other canonical, deuterocanonical, and noncanonical videos on Lost, but there is no such article (List of Lost videos) atm.
 Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk 20:34, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
There is some stuff scattered throughout parody worth gathering on a page, and there's a lot more out there on youtube as well. also the David LaChapelle nomination is seconded here, because it's a really nice promo (especially the cut with the portishead soundtrack). the information in the article is a little bit wrong though, cos they did air that version a few times on E4 in the runup to the launch of S1.
Also, you are correct in that LostPedia:Canon needs more visibility, imo - i also think that with a bit of tweaking, LostPedia:Talk and the guide for n00bs i've mentioned there could potentially be very useful pages. kaini. 20:42, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
Could you correct the article with the information you mention above? Maybe it's also a good excuse for one of us to make a list of videos article.  Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk  02:28, 21 June 2006

(PDT)

i've already corrected it... i might have a crack at compiling a list of videos this evening. kaini. 07:25, 21 June 2006 (PDT)

LostPedia:Featured article for 2006, week 27 (Jun 29-Jul 2)[]

I think the article on the statue would be good. Can someone write a short intro?    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 16:40, 21 June 2006 (PDT)

A lame attempt but: A four-toed monument dominates the coastline as Sayid, Jin and Sun look on from the boat in wonder. Seen in the Season 2 finale, the statue has become a popular mystery amongst Lost fans. Discover some of the theories behind its origins, including the four-toed human species hypothesis and the David and Goliath references! --Nickb123 05:55, 22 June 2006 (PDT)
suggestion: wikify as many of the terms in the text as you can. Especially try to add terms that link to interesting broad areas of Lostpedia, for example we have a great section on mysteries, as well as theory policy.  Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk 00:16, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

LostPedia:Featured article for 2006, week 28 (Jul 3-9)[]

Rachel Blake has become a character of considerable mystery and questions in the Lost Experience. Her website, www.rachelblake.com, is a blog about her vacation to Europe. However, when one uses a password found in the source code of www.persephone.thehansofoundation.org, he/she is taken to Blake's real website, www.stophanso.rachelblake.com - it is in this site that Rachel Blake proclaims her mission to infiltrate and expose the Hanso Foundation and the evil work they are accomplishing. Many people have speculated that Blake is the hacker known as Persephone, and this was recently confirmed. ~ does this work? - darkerzen

LostPedia:Featured article for 2006, week 29 (Jul 10-16)[]

I would like to nominate an article that Kaini and I have been working feverishly on over the last week entitled economics. The article is a detailed investigation on the themes of resource allocaiton, and specifically the two competing philosophies of resource allocation represented in the series: capitalism (Sawyer) vs. socialism (Jack). Scunning 09:20, 27 June 2006 (PDT)

personally, i don't think the economics article will be ready in time, tbh. it is an excellent article, which has some approval from the LostPedia community, but it is still too academic. I would like to nominate The Third Policeman.
sample text: This novel, written by Flann O' Brien, was only published posthumously. Desmond was reading this book when Jack, Locke, Kate, and Hurley gained access to the hatch in Man of Science, Man of Faith; it contains many subtle parallels with the situation in the hatch, as well as many elements of the (discounted) Purgatory theory.
eh? btw, it is an excellent book, which you could read in a weekend very easily. --kaini. 21:24, 8 July 2006 (PDT)
  • I second that nomination. I absolutely love this book and it does make you think about all the connections that it has to Lost while reading it. Just change the beginning from "This Novel" to "The Third Policeman" and we should have a worthy article of the week. Valenzetti 11:01, 11 July 2006 (PDT)

I know I shouldn't nominate a page I've done myself really, but I wanna nominate Lost The Untold. Hear me out, the reason for the nomination is that, like the DaChepelle-whatsit video, few fans outside the UK probably know about the Untold flash, which has loads of cool stuff in, and I think fans would enjoy it especially at the moment where there's no new episodes. Also, its so much better designed than the one on the US official site (I think its under oceanicflight815.com but don't hold me to that) --Nickb123 (Talk) 04:53, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

LostPedia:Featured article for 2006, week 30 (Jul 17-23)[]

" Speaker is an anonymous ABC blogger who operates InsideTheExperience.com to provide official commentary on The Lost Experience in the United States. His Australian counterpart is The Lost Ninja, and U.K. counterpart is The Other Girl, and the opinions of the three do not always agree. Speaker's true identity is not known, but some speculation suggests he is Damon Lindelof. His commentary is considered to be partially Canon, and appears to be a mixture of truth, speculation, literary allusions and riddles. He responds to comments on his blog, as well as his email, and he also maintains a MySpace page. In an interesting twist, a user claiming to be Speaker has made edits here in Lostpedia, including in the Speaker article-- these edits are linked within the article itself for convenient perusal. "
