Beach camp battle

  • Nominated by CTS
  • I think this is a fantastic article, and is written on a very memorable event in the Lost timeline. I think all the battle articles are good, but I like this one the best. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 14:50, 15 December 2008 (PST)
  • Agree But with bias, as I wrote the first version of it, and it hasn't been changed much. --Blueeagleislander 05:10, 16 December 2008 (PST)

"Worth A Thousand Words"

  • Nominated by CTS
  • I think the Via Domus episode articles are also well-written, and interesting too. I think the images are great as well. This is the final episode of the game, and also contains a lot of Lost mythology (the Hydra, Black Rock, shark, etc). -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 14:51, 15 December 2008 (PST)
Agree, I never actually played the "Via Domus", so I visited all the pages on LP that were about it, and I was really surprised to see that some of the eps were written as well as some of the articles for the show's eps. Orhan94 10:25, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3

  • Nominated by: rbfskywalker
  • I think that it is a good episode but it is not about that. good article and its going to get a lot of traffic over the break
    • Agree. Yes, this is one of the more thoroughly researched episodes. Someone needs to clean-up the subsection spacing and picture arrangement, though. Looks like someone got too brclear happy with it. Dharmacakra Kevrock   talk  contribs   10:04, 24 June 2008 (PDT)
    • Agree When articles are new they are indeed loaded with theories and unanswered questions but a lot of the time that's what make it good and still fun, sometimes when you don't know what's going on that's what makes it entertaining, that is pretty much why a lot of people watch lost.-- SawBucks  Talk  Contribs  15:19, 30 November 2008 (PST)
    • Not yet: Though the article is high quality, it is already linked to on the wiki's main page. The frozen donkey wheel is the featured article currently. Maybe next year, but not yet. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  12:44, 14 July 2008 (PDT)
    • Not yet: Because its the latest episode, there's heaps of unanswered questions and theories, so we should wait til Season 5 to feature this. --Blueeagleislander 01:15, 7 August 2008 (PDT)
    • Wait till Season 5 -This would be a perfect article to go up the week before Season 5 starts to refresh everyone's minds and this also gives us more time to refine and edit. -Mr.Leaf 18:06, 7 August 2008 (PDT)

The Orchid

  • Nominated by: CTS
  • This is a great article about the Orchid station, and I think it should be featured going into Season 5. This is a very interesting station, and I think that its importance will be relayed this upcoming season. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 00:10, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Deffinetly A great article like all of the DHARMA Stations, and deserves the final AOTW before S5. Orhan94 00:14, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Catch-22

  • Nominated by: ObiDanKenobi5 05:21, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
  • The episode is well written and I just re-imaged the whole article, that was one of the worst looking articles on our wiki. I find this episode to be what I call a "classic-Lost" episode, featuring character development, romantic issues, mythology and a shocking ending. This is one of Desmond's most important episodes, and overall an enjoying episode for the viewers. ObiDanKenobi5 05:21, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree Very good episode, with a very good episode summary on LP. Orhan94 11:05, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree Very good article, some new relevance now with Ms Hawking back. --Blueeagleislander 11:48, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Daniel Faraday

  • Nominated by: Orhan94 10:37, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
  • The Season 4's additions to the cast (Miles, Daniel, Charlotte and the reccuring Frank and Keamy) have nicely written article and interesting story arcs, and they should get an AOTW. Orhan94 10:37, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
  • Agree - Definately! I think Daniel or Charlotte would be a great AOTW soon. -- Bringlibbyandcharlieback  Talk   Contribs 18:12, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Ajira Airways

  • Nominated by: Crazy Bearded Jack 02:20, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
  • As we approach Season 5 next week, Ajira appears to be a major player in the upcoming events. I think it is the most timely article on the site going into the upcoming season.Crazy Bearded Jack 02:20, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Agree but later, the Ajira Airways project is, seemingly, still in developement so I think we should wait 'till more information is released on this subject. Orhan94 00:04, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Agree but later - I'lle be with Orhan94 here. The article is quite good but we should wait until it also appears in the actual show. --DerAndre (talk) 17:34, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Agree, I'm sure that information about Ajira Airways will accumulate over this season, and then will be a good article to feature. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 19:28, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Agree The best page on the Interwebs for analysis and info on Ajira. --Blueeagleislander 11:52, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Pierre Chang

  • Nominated by: ObiDanKenobi5
    • Pierre Chang has been a prominent information figure since season 2. Using different names, and introducing us to the world of DHARMA, he became a questionable character, whose true name and intensions were revealed during Comic-Con '08. As his flashback opened season 5, it is safe to assume we will see more of Dr. Chang this season. The article have a great structure with good images. ObiDanKenobi5 13:36, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree: Pierre Chang is a very mysterious and enigmatic character. He is also a very important part of Lost mythology. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 03:03, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree: Like all recurring characters on Lost, Pierre has a great character bio and a great article on LP. --Orhan94 19:28, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

List of Oceanic Flight 815 survivors

  • Nominated by: CTS
  • I think that this is a fantastic comprenhensive article on all of the passengers of Flight 815 (canon, non-canon, deuterocanon, EU, etc). This article has great descriptions on the survivors (O6, A-Team, reshirts, etc.) of the flight. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 21:29, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
  • I agree and disagree with it beeing a AOTW. I agree because I think LP has tons of great lists and this one is one of the best of them, but I disagree due to the fact that while selecting an AOTW, the majority of users on LP are against featuring lists' articles. So I propose we have a weekly Featured List aswell as still having the AOTW and QOTD. Lostpedia has many well written lists, aswell as lists with pretty interesting subjects, that would've never been featured as AOTW so I think that we should start featuring them as Featured Lists (or FLTW). Orhan94 22:52, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
  • I agree with what you're saying, but there just aren't enough list articles for their to be a LOTW (list of the week) or anything like that. I nominated this article for three reasons: 1) it is a fantastic list article, and LP has featured list-articles in the past, such as Survivor factions. 2) This article demonstrates the comprehensiveness of LP, the fact that we can classify almost every survivor of the flight, many of them by name. 3) I think it's very interesting to see a full-length list of all of the survivors, which is a vital part to the Lost storyline. I know that list articles aren't always the best to be featured, but I think this article stands out from others. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 23:30, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Temporal displacement

  • Nominated by: Sam McPherson  T  C  E
    • After RobertKS's creation of the article, I recently rewrote it and made it quite a lengthy and substantial article, if I do say so myself. It has been quite a recent and important theme on Lost, and I feel it is well suited for featured status. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  02:29, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree: This is a very interesting theme on Lost, and Sam did a great job rewriting this article. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 00:04, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree, Sam's work on this article took it from a stub to a first-rate article in one fell swoop. Robert K S (talk) 05:46, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
  • AgreeBrilliant rewrite about a fascinating and relevant part of the Lost mythos. --Blueeagleislander 06:59, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree It's a great article really deserving the AotW. --Orhan94 12:15, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Science team

  • Nominated by:  Sam McPherson  T  C  E
    • While this would obviously not be a good candidate for next week's (due to the fact that Daniel Faraday is this week's), in two or three week's time, it would be a perfect time to highlight the three (two, really) characters remaining from the freighter, all of whom were on the science team. I believe it's a well-written and relevant article. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  05:26, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
      • Yes, more information regarding the science team is likely to come out in the next few episodes--Lostgradstudent 22:06, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Yes, well-written and nice table. --Blueeagleislander 01:44, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Yes, like a said in a previous nomination, the new characters and character groups have great articles on Lostpedia (Kahana, Martin Keamy, Daniel Faraday, Mercenary team are previous featured articles, and Science team, Frank Lapidus and Charlotte Lewis are other great articles, worthy of the AOTW) --Orhan94 10:47, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Apophenia

  • Nominated by: Sam McPherson  T  C  E
    • The second of the two articles I found is Apophenia. It had been nominated previously, but apparently was not as fully fledged as it is now. It is a very interesting read that pokes fun at Lost fans everywhere, and is humorously self-depreciating. Also very well-written, and lengthy. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  22:55, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree Much improved since its previous nomination (Jan 07) --Blueeagleislander 06:59, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree the new pics on it made wonder. --Orhan94 12:14, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Ajira Airways Flight 316

Frank Lapidus

  • Nominated by:  ODK  Talk  Sandbox  22:17, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
    • Frank is a fascinating and well-liked character, who plays a key part in the mythology - whether if it was his replacement as the pilot of Flight 815, his discovery of Seth Norris's fake body, or his second arrival to the island. The article is well-written with great images.  ODK  Talk  Sandbox  22:17, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree his article is one of the many from Season 4 that are fantastically written. --Orhan94 22:21, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree Great article. --Blueeagleislander 00:44, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Agree Well-written, and current. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  16:37, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

VALIS

  • Nominated by: Sam McPherson  T  C  E
    • Due to the lack of nominations, I've scouted the wiki and found two wonderful articles that I feel should be featured. The first of these is VALIS. This article is the best out of all the literary works articles on the wiki, and should perhaps be considered a standard for the rest of them. We haven't had a book's article be featured recently, and I feel this would be a prime candidate. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  22:55, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Yes One of our best literaiture articles. --Blueeagleislander 06:59, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Yes Nice article. --Orhan94 21:49, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Jeremy Davies

  • Nominated by  Sam McPherson  T  C  E
    • Not many of the articles that we have featured are out of the show's realm, and are primarily written as in-universe. I think it's high time that we have a cast member's article be featured, and I think that Jeremy Davies' article is the best choice for this, because it is the longest out of the main cast articles, and is quite informative. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  18:55, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support, nice article, on the three best cast member articles, along with Harold Perrineau and Dominic Monaghan. --Orhan94 09:35, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support--It would be one of the best choices for a cast member.-- SawBucks  Talk  Contribs  09:43, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support I like this article a lot, and it is a perfect page to represent our non-Lost-universe related articles. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 17:37, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Charles Widmore

  • Nominated by:  ODK  Talk  Sandbox  01:35, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
    • Widmore has been described as "the big bad guy" of Lost, and with every episode we learn more about his past of the island and his on going war with Ben. The article itself is well-written with well-chosen images. Although he is quite the baddie, Widmore is a popular character amongst fans.  ODK  Talk  Sandbox  01:35, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
    • Pictogram voting support Widmore follows the pattern that baddies get great articles, as Ben, Mikhail, Ethan, Keamy have great articles and are previous AotW. --Orhan94 08:14, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
    • Pictogram voting support: I love the article -- Widmore is an iconic character on Lost, and this should be featured. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 02:14, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
    • Pictogram voting support per above. --Blueeagleislander 09:47, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

DHARMA or The Others

  • Nominated by Nickb123
  • Major bias cause I rewrote both of these recently. Firstly, they have been featured in the past, but I don't think that should stop re-featuring if the content has significantly changed/improved since the last feature. I nominate both of these pages as it shows how major articles can be categorized (particularly the DHARMA one) effectively. I would prefer DHARMA over the Others, as I still dislike the whole "Others crimes" section as I think its a little verbose. Also having DHARMA links in nicely with the current ARG. --Nickb123 (Talk) 06:19, 6 August 2008 (PDT)
  • Slight Pictogram voting oppose: While I love what you've done with the articles, both have been featured already. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  06:34, 6 August 2008 (PDT)
    • Slight Pictogram voting oppose: While they have been significantly redone, I think other articles should be seen as featured. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:09, 6 August 2008 (PDT)
  • Pictogram voting support I eprsonally bleieve these are perhaps the two best articles on the wiki, especially the DHARMA one. --Blueeagleislander 01:15, 7 August 2008 (PDT)
  • Pictogram voting support but later - If we run out of new AOTW i am all for re-using these articles, that's what we did last year during the hiatus. -Mr.Leaf 18:06, 7 August 2008 (PDT)
  • Pictogram voting support but later - these are some of LP's best articles, but we should wait for some others to be feautured first. I also think the DHARMA logos page should be re-featured as well. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 20:46, 9 August 2008 (PDT)
  • After Season 5 - it seems that DHARMA will be revisited in Season 5, according to the fact that Dharma played a large role in the activities in the S4-S5 hiatus, so after S5, the DHARMA Initiative article will probably feature a lot of material it does not have right now or at the time it was featured, but I strongly agree that both articles should be refeatured in the future. Orhan94 00:07, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support (maybe later) - This would be a great article to start the season, as it's one of the best on LP. But it appears we will find out more about the DI as Season 5 progresses, so I think this would be a PERFECT article for mid-season.Crazy Bearded Jack 16:49, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support - I think The Others is a great page! It would be perfect for the beginning of Season 5. -- Bringlibbyandcharlieback  Talk   Contribs 18:12, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Hieroglyphs

  • Nominated by : --Orhan94 16:00, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
    • I great article featuring pictures and individual translations of every hieroglyph that appeared on the show: The Swans countdown timer, The frozen chamber, The Temple. IMO one the most useful and detailed articles on LP as it lists the meaning of those hieroglyphs, something that a lot of people can solely find on that article.--Orhan94 16:00, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support: The glyphs are a very intriguing aspect of the show, and significant to Lost's mythology. Very interesring article. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 02:17, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support: It seems like the hieroglyphs have become one of the most important aspects of Lost's mythology, and this season has certianly solidified that. It's a great article too, with all the translations of the symbols and whatnot.-- Steele  talk  contribs  02:35, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support It's a very nice article, and quite relevant, especially due to the Egyptian theme appearing more frequently in the show. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  19:08, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Jacob's nemesis

  • Nominated by :  Sam McPherson  T  C  E
    • Obviously quite a large part of the fifth season, this article also exemplifies the use of the new reference template when describing fan nicknames. Quite a well-written character biography with plenty of good images. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  18:18, 31 May 2009 (UTC).
  • Pictogram voting support A detailed and informative article on one of the most mysterious and intriguing aspects of the show ever. Fantastic AOTW.-- Steele  talk  contribs  00:49, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

"Exposé"

  • Nominated by: --Blueeagleislander 04:07, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
    • A well-written article with a brilliant and comprehensive trivia section. --Blueeagleislander 04:07, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support the unique format "Exposé" featured gave us a lot of meta-fictional material as well as an extensive list of bloopers and continuity errors for its trivia section. The synopsis is nice and long. --Orhan94 09:58, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support Yes, strong agree. This is a fantastic episode in my opinion. The article and trivia is great as well. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 13:11, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support Lots of content, lots of images, and it's not a bad episode, either. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  18:27, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Statue of Taweret

Penelope Hume

  • Nominated by :  ODK  Talk  Sandbox
    • Penny has been one of the key players in the mythology of Lost - she searched for the island, contacted Charlie and rescued the Oceanic Six. Also, her father appears to be the major antagonist of the series. The article details her history with Desmond perfectly, accompanied with fitting pictures. I think this is a great article, which is worthy of the title of Aotw.  ODK  Talk  Sandbox  20:16, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
    • Pictogram voting support i actually meant to nominate her myself ever since Charles Widmore was featured though I think it would be best to feature it the week "Live Together, Die Alone" is rewatched according to the Lost:Rewatch. --Orhan94 15:42, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
    • Pictogram voting support: Great character and article. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 00:55, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Whispers

  • Nominated by:--Orhan94 11:25, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
    • As the rewatching of "Solitary" and the first appearance of the Whispers is getting closer I think that we should consider re-featuring this article from June 15th. --Orhan94 11:25, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
    • Agree: The whispers are an iconic and enigmatic part of LOST. Great article. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 02:38, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Live Together, Die Alone

Exodus, Part 2

  • Nominated by:  CTS  Talk   Contribs
    • This is a phenomonal episode, and the first finale of the series. Nicely written article, great trivia, and a classic episode of LOST. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 01:10, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
      • Pictogram voting support One of the best ep summaries, great trivia sections, and a classic ep. --Blueeagleislander 03:31, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Rousseau's maps and notes

  • Nominated by: Nickb123 (Talk)
    • I see AOTW as not always about being the perfect article but also about having cool content. This article fulfills the latter, particularly with the development this week of us all translating the full Rousseau map of the Island. It'd be really cool to see this featured. --Nickb123 (Talk) 14:44, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
    • Pictogram voting support This is an awesome article, and has some extremely interesting content. Rousseau's map is very itneresting to look at. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 15:22, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Rejected Nominations 2009

Naveen Andrews

  • Nominated by: Orhan94 10:37, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
  • Naveen's article is one of the best among the main cast's pages. Orhan94 10:37, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
    • Agree: Though I may be biased, having recently rewritten and reorganized the page, I feel that this cast article is very good, and should be used as a featured article in the near future. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  04:06, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
    • Strong disagree - What's so special about this article? The fact that it is "one of the best among the main cast's pages" doesn't make it a featured article at all. In addition, it's way too short. --DerAndre (talk) 00:41, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
    • Strong disagree - Offers nothing that any other actor page does, and contributes nothing to LOST-related knowledgeCrazy Bearded Jack 16:47, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Disagree - I don't think it contributes much. -- Bringlibbyandcharlieback  Talk   Contribs 18:12, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Agree A great cast article, I also think it's long enough. --Blueeagleislander 01:17, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Graveyard

  • Nominated by: Noileh
  • Admittedly I'm bias to this suggestion as I practically re-wrote the entire article, but I think it is a good article. It is detailed, well-organized and well-written. The name still needs changing, but other than that I think that it is a very good article with appropriate images, information and arrangement. meggie ~ Talk & contribs 23:32, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
    • Pictogram voting oppose: I find it cluttered and quite confusing. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  15:19, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
    • Did some clean-up on this. Removed unnecessary tables and such. Thoughts now? Also, any suggestions for improvement? Like what do you find confusing about it? meggie ~ Talk & contribs 20:43, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

ABC TV Store merchandise

  • Nominated by: Noileh
  • Admittedly I'm bias to this suggestion as I wrote and consistently update the entire article but I believe that it is a good representation of our work at Lostpedia. It is colourful, well-organized and complete with all descriptions and pictures. It is updated on a weekly basis as ABC releases new items for sale. meggie ~ Talk & contribs 23:32, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

"The Constant"

  • Nominated by:--Baker1000 20:02, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
    • With Christmas coming up in December, I think it would be great if we used this episode since it takes place on Christmas Eve. And if possible, could we break the rule of using the main article image and use the image of Penny standing in front of the Christmas tree? Just to add a little more Christmas-y feeling to the front page.--Baker1000 20:02, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
