Lance Reddick portrays Matthew Abaddon starting in Season 4.

Biography

Reddick attended the Eastman School of Music, and Yale University. After trying to be a singer, he gave up and was accepted in to the acting branch of Yale.

After graduation, he became an actor, guest starring in two episodes of Law & Order. He then became famous for appearing as Cedric Daniels in the HBO series The Wire. He also appeared in twelve episodes of the HBO prison drama Oz along with Lost actors Harold Perrineau and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

Reddick currently stars on the J.J. Abrams produced series Fringe as FBI agent and recruiter Philip Broyles. Though the show airs on FOX, a different network than Lost does, Reddick's contract is with Abrams' company, Bad Robot, and is therefore available to work on Lost whenever necessary, while still continuing his role on Fringe.

Reddick has had other minor roles in shows such as Numb3rs, CSI: Miami, New York Undercover, and is also starring in the upcoming film Tennessee.

Trivia

  • Reddick also sings jazz music. Some of his songs can be heard on his MySpace music site.
  • Damon Lindelof on casting Reddick: "One of the things we really gravitated toward was that Lance is very scary looking, and he's a very intensive actor who also has this incredible charisma." [1]
