List of keys in LOST
Anthony Cooper gave this safe deposit box key to Locke in Lockdown.
A number of keys are given particular importance in the series by being shown on screen or specifically mentioned:
- The key to the marshal's handcuffs. Kate unlocks one of the bracelets with the key she takes from the unconscious marshal, who hit his head during turbulence, in episode 1x02. Kate then dropped the key in the plane when she reached for the oxygen masks. This key was lost in the crash.
- They keys mentioned in Danielle Rousseau's distress message, heard in episode 1x02: "Brennan took the keys". What those keys are and who Brennan is are still unanswered questions.
- The key to the marshal's safe deposit box number 815, which Kate uses to open the safe deposit box in the New Mexico bank in episode 1x12. How Kate obtained that key is still a mystery.
- The key to the marshal's Halliburton case, in episode 1x12. The key was apparently taken from the marshal's wallet by Kate. Case and key ended up in Jack's possession for a time. It is unclear who is its current possessor.
- Tom Brennan's keys. When Kate runs from the hospital in Iowa, Kate says "I need your car keys" and Tom gives her his set of keys, in episode 1x22.
- The key to Helen's place she gives John as a six-month anniversary present in episode 2x03.
- John's set of keys that Helen takes and throws on Anthony Cooper's property, in episode 2x03. What happened with those keys is unknown.
- The key to the marshal's handcuffs. Kate unlocks the handcuffs she takes from the marshal after his car went off the road, in episode 2x19.
- The key Cooper gave to John for the safe deposit box, in episode 2x17.
- The key to the fail-safe, in episode 2x24. First seen in Kelvin Inman's possession and later taken by Desmond, who uses it.
