- Shorter has worked in the makeup department on over 20 different television series and movies including A Mighty Wind and Darkness Falls.

- In 2004 Shorter was nominated for 2 Emmys for her work on Tracey Ullman in the Trailer Tales however did not win.
- She did win the award for Best Makeup in Television Mini-Series/Movie of the Week awarded to her by the Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild.
