Ben with the television
The Hydra Television set is used by Ben in "The Glass Ballerina" to prove to Jack that the Others have contact with the outside world since the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. Ben uses the television to play a tape of the Boston Red Sox winning the 2004 World Series. The Hydra television is mounted on a wheeled cart and is attatched to a 1985 SONY VO-5800 U-matic video recording device.
The Recording
The recording that Ben showed Jack differed slightly from the original airing:
- Show Dialogue: (Ben turns on tevelvision) "...back to Foulke... Red Sox fans have longed to hear it! The Boston Red Sox are World Champions! Uncanny sweep for the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Red Sox celebrate in the middle of the diamond here at Busch Stadium." (Ben turns off television)
- Real Life Dialogue: "...back to Foulke... Red Sox fans have longed to hear it! The Boston Red Sox are World Champions! It has been 86 years, generations have come and gone, and for the first time since 1918 the Boston Red Sox are champions of baseball! A clean sweep for the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Red Sox celebrate in the middle of the diamond here at Busch Stadium."
