The title refers to the book or film For Love of the Game. The film featured Michael Emerson, Daniel Dae Kim and Tracy Middendorf and coincidentally included a mention of "Oceanic Airways."[1] In the episode's context, the phrase refers to Daniel's love for Charlotte being his motivation during "The Variable".
