Emerson Brooks played the role of Tony Nagy. Prior to his appearance on Lost, Emerson appeared as a lawyer opposite Tim Roth and David Anders (Adam from Heroes) in the television series Lie To Me. His most prominent line of dialogue was "you don't have to answer, sergeant!" Emerson has also had appearances on shows like Monk, The Office, ER, Heroes, Numbers, the motion picture National Treasure: Book of Secrets, and others.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Emerson grew up in a family with six brothers and sisters. He joined the U.S. Army to become a paratrooper, graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in IT Business, and then prospered in engineering until 2004, when he moved to Hollywood to pursue a film career. When the casting call went out for "Tony The Nurse," the producers asked for a preference of stunt men. Emerson has over two decades of experience under his belt in multiple forms of hand to hand combat.
