This page is to list all of the continuity errors that are found in Lost. See also: Blooper.

Season 1

  • The flight of Oceanic Flight 815 departs at 14:55 and travels east for six hours before losing radio contact and turning the plane. This would mean that the crash would happen during the night, and yet it was during the day. --> They travelled eastwards, where the sun rises.
  • When Boone used the radio in the small plane, he heard his voice on the other end. This should have been Bernard's voice.
  • The script is different from Boone's transmission to Bernard's. Although they are very similar, there are a few words different between them.
  • If you listen to each iteration of the distress signal that Sayid picks up on the transceiver, you will find it repeats both more and less than the 30 seconds that Sayid estimates, when of course it should be roughly equal everytime for the the math to work.
    • If the iterations last above and below thirty seconds, however, they may average out and the math is therefore sound.
  • In Deus Ex Machina Jack's Rucksack changes between shots when he speaks to Sawyer over his headaches. (ca. 16:00, see [1] and [2])
  • The photo of the second raft shown on this website shows it with aircraft windows, but when it was being placed on the raft, it is clearly(?) a baggage/cargo container.
  • In Exodus, Part 1, on the day of Flight 815's takeoff, which was September 22nd, 2004, Walt is watching Power Rangers S.P.D. on TV. That particular show did not first air until February 2005, and didn't run in Australia until around November 2005.

Season 2

  • The Record player in the hatch varies between steel and wood finish, depending on the episode.
  • In Man of Science, Man of Faith, when Jack and Locke look down into the hatch, it is at least twice as large as it was in Season 1.
    • In the same episode, when Jack goes to press a button on the computer Locke says "I wouldn't do that". In "Adrift," when we see the same scene from Kate's point of view Locke says "I wouldn't do that Jack". However, these may be based on the character's memories, which slightly vary, as shown in some of the Sun and Jin flashbacks, where their memories are slightly different.
  • The dates on Jin's resume shown in "...And Found" have the wrong years.
  • During Jack's flashbacks in the episode "The Hunting Party" an x-ray can clearly be seen marked November 2005. This is the filming date of this episode.
  • During Kate's flashbacks in the episode "What Kate Did" some fruit can clearly be seen marked as being from 2005. In the January 23, 2006 official podcast, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof acknowledge this is a continuity error. The flashbacks were occurring in either 2000 or 2001.
  • In Fire and Water we see John exit the Swan station by a shed door (similar to the entrance of the Arrow. However, in Three Minutes, there entrance to the Swan other than the hatch is metal doors like that on the Staff entrance.
  • In ?, the coroner reads from notes that are supposedly about Charlotte's post-mortem, but in actuality are the progress notes about a living female patient at Queens Hospital (in Honolulu).
  • The Ana-Lucia/Libby funeral supposedly takes place at sunset, but moments later, in the opening scene of Live Together, Die Alone, the boys swim out to Desmond's boat under a bright midday sun.
  • Two different actresses appear in Desmond's photograph in Man of Science, Man of Faith and in Live Together, Die Alone. The initial photo was obviously taken prior to the casting of Penelope Widmore.
  • Two different versions of the prop used for Penelope's letter are used, in Live Together, Die Alone.
  • The System Failure in Live Together, Die Alone; the number formats of the log printout have changed from the original, introduced during ?, when Locke and Eko discover The Pearl Station. When Desmond looks at the print out during Live Together, Die Alone, he sees: 922044:16 which translate to 09-22-2004 4:16. The original log contained number sequences like 41602054:05, 41602055:53, 41602088:17 which don't match the later format. This may be a continuity error or if not, then perhaps a clue.
  • When Eko inspects the power box in Live Together, Die Alone, we initially see that it is wide open. However, when he moves closer, it is nearly closed.
