"Bon Voyage, Traitor" is an orchestral piece on the Season 2 soundtrack. It plays as Michael leaves the Island.
Scene description[]
The survivors pick up the pieces at their camp following the Discharge. Charlie returns to camp and expresses surprise that Locke and Eko aren't yet back.
At the Pala ferry, Ben instructs Michael on how to leave the Island. He finds Walt in the boat the Others provided. Bea Klugh sends Hurley back to the beach. Michael steers away in the ship as Jack, Kate, and Sawyer look on, bound and gagged.
Full list of appearances[]
- As Michael leaves the Island, the Others prepare to take Jack, Kate and Sawyer off with them. ("Live Together, Die Alone, Part 2")
- In flashbacks, Juliet discusses with Ben her plan to infiltrate the survivors. In the present, she works on building a tent for herself. ("One of Us")
- Ben shoots Locke and leaves him for dead in the mass grave. ("The Man Behind the Curtain")
- Jack opens his backpack to get medical supplies to treat Kate's wound, only to discover that the Man in Black planted a bomb inside. ("The Candidate")
Influences[]
The first movement is a variation of Desmond's theme. The second movement blends the Others' main motif with Ben's theme before leading into the Others' theme. Ben's theme returns, followed by Desmond's theme and then Ben's theme again. It ends on its own motif.
Title significance[]
Michael betrayed the other survivors. Before he leaves, Ben wishes him "Bon Voyage." Michael leaves by boat, making the naval phrase particularly appropriate.
