It's a common belief amongst Lost fans that Desmond Hume's "visions" were all actual glimpses of the future.

I can understand why people think this. For a long time, I did too. Only, to me it never quite felt right. So I looked a little closer and what I found may surprise you.

Before I go any further, I need to explain a little about the "time loop theory".

Some believe it, some don't, others don't understand it while many more haven't even heard of it. There is no "one" theory and they're all confusing. The one thing they all have in common is the notion of a time loop where a reset occurs and events re-play slightly differently each time until "The Incident" occurs which breaks the loop cycle and allows the events in 2007 to play out.

    Let me…

Well, I guess it's about time I write my LOST Series finale blog post. I have decided to spare the one or two of you who read my blog from having to sit through an intolerably long post. I mean, I know when I go to other people's blogs I skip the really long entries. So, I will try to keep it relatively brief.

Anyway, let's dive in. I have already stated in my preliminary LOST blog post that the Finale was AWESOME so now it's time to explain a little about what made it awesome. There are several things that are necessary for any story to be able to enjoy long term popularity. One of these is that it has to answer enough questions for the audience to come away from the experience feeling like the story came to a satisfying conclusion but it …

Recently someone on a Lost fan-site complained that one of the show's best scenes was ruined because of the choice of language used - an extraordinary allegation considering its importance.

The scene in question is the epic one in 'The Candidate' where Sun and Jin die. Once Jack et al leave, the doomed couple switch between English and Korean.

This is one Lost's most heart-wrenching/beautiful scenes. Even collecting the images to use for this post had me tearing up. It left a big impression on me that's just as strong today as the first time I watched in horror as two of my favourite characters passed away in the most tragic of circumstances.

For this reason, I found it (to put it mildly) bemusing to hear that for some, the scene was a failur…

Watching movies are one great way to get entertained. Movies however are not just for entertainment but also considered the reflection of society we live in. Many different kinds of movies are made throughout the world everyday and hundreds and hundreds of movies are produced every year. Many great movies are made in the history, movies that are always entertaining, movies people would never forget or wouldn’t get bored watching over and over again. However we are here going to discuss about some of the most successful movies of 2009 in terms of revenue they collected or say movies that earned the most profits.

    1. Avatar

Directed by James Cameron – the director of films like Titanic and Jurassic Park, Avatar is one of the best movies released …

For me, Lost's greatest legacy is the affect it had on my sense of faith and 'spirituality'.

I am not religious, and at times wondered if Lost was trying to shove religion down my throat. My brain, upbringing and training are all science based so it's no surprise it's at the heart of how I go about my life. But with committed viewing I realised they weren't trying to force religion on me at all. Religion was merely used as a story telling device. The journey that is 'Lost' is a deeply personal one and everyone will get something different out of it.

I think for me the character of Rose had the greatest affect on me. She's not my favourite (though is one of), but she had a wonderful way of looking at things that I found infectious. Yes she wa…

    Eerie motif

    January 20, 2013 by MryCrisper

There's a very common motif in the series that I can't find here. Although most episodes feature it, I only remember some ocurrences:

    • Jack sees his dead father on White Rabbit//OK, sorry. It doesn't play on this scene.
    • Several times on Meet Kevin Johnson;
    • Eloise's face is revealed at the end of The Lie//Sorry, again! What the hell!
    • A custodian tells Desmond not to tell anyone he found Faraday's equipments (16:02; 16:55); after either Desmond or Widmore says something to each other (33:52) (Jughead).
    • It plays at 0:12 here: [1]

It is Wednesday. Now what I realized is that a marble is my best friend. Not really but there is this marble in my science class, and he is my favorite marble because he has pretty colors. I also hate how everybody thinks their somebody. Just because one popular person knows your fricken name that does not mean they like you or that your somebody. OK so today is a short thing well OK, I like this guy or should I say guys. One is in seventh grade the other in eighth. One is hot the other is kind and weird and just plain fun. But that is all you need to know. (for now) Love you all, not really!

Well it is a Monday. I must say going to school, is well wasting my life. OK so maybe that statement was not as true as it should be, but it has to be one of the most boring things I will ever do. Yet school is an important factor of life I have yet to believe that it will be educational and entertaining at the same time. How is some test going to show my intelligence? Did these people ever think that I copied from a neighbor for an answer or two? Of course I never have, but if you really want to test my intelligence, then why don`t you ask me questions? But hey what are you going to do? Well I love you all( not really but whatever) I have to go study for my constitution test enjoy your lives.

    LOST: The Next Generation

    December 3, 2012 by Gregaus

No, this is not fan fiction. I was recently asked if Lost would find a whole new fan-base in light of a heavily promoted re-run on G4. The question seemed easy enough. It's a simple yes or no answer, right? Well, not quite.

As with everything to do with Lost, there are no simple answers - and most answers simply lead to more questions anyway. I've been in the TV / Media industry long enough to know how cyclical these things are. The fact it's on G4 means it's being exposed to a new younger (mostly male) audience.

But Lost - by its nature - has a couple of very major roadblocks when it comes to finding new fans.

The first is a requirement for dedication. Proper, all-consuming, diligent dedication. Casual viewing will simply not suffice. The seco…

For all those who think superhero movies are too subtle and restrained, let's throw in a little Giacchino!

Okay, I now can't watch a TV or film series finale without mentally humming "Moving On." But even I couldn't have predicted that "moving on" would be the theme of The Dark Knight Rises - to the point where the hero's love interest - a long-haired brunette fugitive, of course - literally seeks a macguffin called "Clean Slate" (when finally offered it, she says, "I don't even know how to get off this island.") To the point where mobility is frequently mentioned and the hero must first overcome a leg injury, and then a crippling spinal injury!

Many sagas end with the hero sacrificing himself, but this movie began with the hero already open…

...One is light, one is dark."

We all remember that scene in season one where Locke is explaining how to play backgammon to Walt. Some episodes later, Jack and Kate found two skeletons and a bag with the black and white things in a cave. John Locke calls the skeletons "our very own Adam and Eve". Years later we discover that the skeletons are The Man In Black and his adoptive mother. We learn Jacob's story and how he played something similar to backgammon with his brother. They used the same black and white things. We see a flashblack of John saying "Two players, two sides. One is light, one is dark" as if he was talking about Jacob and Smokey. The thing that freaks me out is: The writers of the show had this planned since the very beginn…

Two years ago, we marked the crash's 6th anniversary with a group rewatch. One year ago, we didn't, because we were still in the middle of the previous rewatch. Are we all ready to do the same thing this year?

Hell no. "We" don't even come to the this site anymore.

But I will open up the old blogs, a few at a time, so those who do feel like talking about the episodes can. I'll probably start by sharing thoughts I had when recently reading the first episode's scripts for the first time.

“That’s not new,” Hurley said. “This Island…is like something out of science fiction,” he added, turning around and looking at the insular hills past the crumbling statue.

“But when you time-traveled, it was by accident,” Ben noted. “I turned the wheel, yes – but I didn’t mean to send everyone on this rock randomly back and forth. They” – Ben raised the book – “controlled it. I always thought this was a failure. They never seemed to know what they were doing here.”

“Well, they seem to have managed it,” Hurley said.

“Yes,” Ben replied, weakly. Searching in his pocket for his reading glasses, he turned the first page of Historia Insulae. He read aloud the first, carefully-worded, handwritten entry.

    Narrator's Note:

Hello again, folks! It's been a long time since I published the latest truth behind

What Really Happened in Lost, in the period knowable as Creation to 2007. However,

while I intend at some point to publish the rest of that series, I am here today to

Walt's birthday is this Friday and I was thinking of having a surprise party for him. Can anyone tell me why Eloise didn't make Ben have John include Walt in those who must return to the Island? Ben obviously had the wherewithal to get Sayid on the plane. And no Desmond? It took Widmore's greed to get that Package to return. Why didn't Charles just kidnap Walt, Aaron AND Ji Yeon if they "never should have left"? It can't be that Ji Yeon (KWON 42) isn't connected to the Island - she was conceived there. It can't be that Aaron (LITTLETON 313) isn't connected to the Island - he was born there and Claire was fated to 815. It can't be that Walt (DAWSON 124) isn't connected to the Island - he's a whisper......... So, what if they all wen…

Desmond is the "Fail Safe" whatever that means. He is also 'special' Desmond revisits events in his past, not to change them, but to 'fix' them when they are changed by another 'outside force'...

Then Desmond is the first to 'see' the afterlife and report back to 'reality' in a similar, but not necessarilly same, way as when he flashed in time...

In the original examples we see that Desmonds cross relations with time allow him to hold a greater sway based on outside knowledge of the situation, but in the sideways example it is reversed...

It has been said that Desmonds flash with the afterlife came to him with no effect to the afterlife, but I don't know if I agree entirely. Desmond conciously attacks John Locke in the sideways with direct i…

DarkUFO has released the unabridged, original scripts for The End and the Pilot. All other scripts are coming soon. This could be the biggest rush of material we've had since the finale aired.

I've read what's up already. It offers quite a bit of information for our articles and offers lots of scenes that never made it into episodes. But it's also a lot of fun just to read the scripts and see all the extra details the writers put in to describe scenes and people's motivations.

Maybe the most unexpected thing I've seen so far is all the profanity. While the characters restrict themselves to "damn"s and "son of a bitch"s, the rest of the script unleashes f-bombs at every opportunity, particularly in explaining the subtext behind character's word…

This election is turning to be one where I have to ask myself the question… Which candidate is best for my country? America is about more than just prosperity. It’s about Justice for All.

In 2008 Obama ran on a platform of change and faith.

One thing that has always bothered me about Lost is how they just leave some characters unburied, like how they never go back for Charlie's corpse. Yeah, they were busy trying to leave the Island and it would have be difficult but it still bothered me. When I re-watched the End and saw how the MiB in Locke's form was never buried it made me realize how there are 2 Locke corpses, 2 MiB corpses, but only 3 corpses.

There's 1. John Locke's body is buried at Boone Hill at the fuselage camp. 2. MiB's body is in the Cave next to Mother. 3. MiB in Locke's form is lying on the lower cliff by the sea.

Just looking at the recurring themes and wondering if maybe some other recurring themes should be added, such as reunions (there seems to be alot of instances when people leave - such as Jin, Walt, Michael and Sawyer on the raft in Season 1 - and then return), polar opposites in different forms (Jack and Locke's beliefs; Rose and Bernard; Jacob and the Man in Black's views on mankind, etc.), the word Lost itself (I realize this may be redundant; I think that the word seems to be spoken at least once by a character in every episode); the thought that the passengers are already dead (I keverynow that the producers have said that everyone on the island is not dead, but every few episodes one of the characters brings this up).
