Widmore's victim blindfolded. ("The Other Woman")

Blindfolds were used multiple times on Lost, most commonly by the Others, to keep their location mysterious and to conceal other facts from the survivors.

These commonly took the form of a hood or bag placed over the victim's head, rather than a traditional piece of folded cloth. Not only did bags make more sense in the context of the story (e.g., impromptu nature of kidnapping, scarcity of resources), but also hoods enhanced suspense by completely disguising the victim's face.

Season One[]

  • Hurley blindfolded his mother to surprise her with her new house, but this led to her falling and hurting her ankle. ("Numbers")

Season Three[]

Season Four[]

Season Five[]

  • Aboard Ajira Flight 316, Hurley put on a blindfold when the turbulence began, perhaps to keep himself from panicking in the expected crash. ("316")
  • Sawyer and Juliet rescued Amy by killing two Others who had just put a bag over her head. ("LaFleur")
