• The bearded man hates Kate because he's one of a minority of people who believe (correctly) that the Oceanic Six are being dishonest about something.
• The bearded man could be family or friend of Kate's biological father, Wayne Janssen. That doesn't explain why he speaks in reverse, but it could be just the producers playing with us.
• He is Jerry thirty years in the future.
