After the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, Jack woke up in the grove and noticed that Vincent was watching him. ("Pilot, Part 1")
Four years later, the Man in Black brought Jack, Hurley, Kate, Sawyer, Ben, and Desmond to the bamboo grove; he proceeded with Jack and Desmond while the rest stayed behind. ("The End")
After Desmond pulled the plug from the source and the Island started to sink, Ben was trapped by a falling tree within the bamboo grove; he was later freed.
Jack came back to the bamboo grove after he had been stabbed by the Man in Black; he then lay down where he woke up three years before and he slowly died with Vincent by his side.
