Os Outros tinham um submarino, que Ben dizia ser a única forma de voltar ao mundo exterior. Foi destruído por Locke em "The Man from Tallahassee". Não se sabe se esse submarino é o mesmo Galaga.
Em "Enter 77", Mikhail explica que existe um canal submerso que ajuda na navegação do submarino. Ele também diz que a Iniciativa DHARMA usava o submarino para levar membros para a Ilha, mas que os Outros o tinham pego para si.

Em "The Man from Tallahassee", Locke se infiltrou na Vila dos Outros e pegou Ben e Alex como reféns, exigindo que eles dissessem onde estava o submarino. Ben entendeu que Locke estava planejando usar os explosivos que pegou da estação Chama para destruir o veículo e tentou convencê-lo (usando psicologia reversa) a não fazer isso.
Ele explicou que o submarino poderia deixar a Ilha, mas não poderia retornar. Portanto, o resultado seria o mesmo se Locke destruísse ou não o submarino, porque Jack estaria indo embora naquela hora. Locke pegou Alex e colocou os explosivos no submarino. Enquanto ele deixava a doca, Tom, Jack, e Juliet o capturaram, mas o submarino explodiu momentos depois. Locke depois percebeu que o que Alex disse era verdade: ele havia sido manipulado por Ben para que destruisse o submarino, minando assim as chances de Jack sair da Ilha.

Em "One of Us" o flashback de Juliet revelou que Ethan e Richard Alpert deram a ela um copo de suco de laranja com tranqüilizante antes da viagem. Ela acordou no submarino, amarrada à cama. Ethan explicou que precisou desse artifício porque a última parte da viagem era bastante turbulenta. Ela caminhou pelo submarino, subiu a escada e ficou de pé do lado de fora dele, observando a paisagem. Logo Ben apareceu e a ajudou a descer para a doca.

- If the village is surrounded by a sonic barrier, and since Locke walked above ground, why didn't Locke need to walk through the fence to get to the submarine?
- The village is shown to be placed at altitude in a central crater in the island, yet Locke was able to quickly get to the submarine dock from the village. How did he get there?
- Did Locke actually destroy the sub, or did he only make it seem as if he did?
- The Others seem to have used the sub in the past as a way to approach the castaways discreetly. Did the sub have an airlock which allowed them to disembark while the sub was still submerged?
