Every few episodes I get stuck obsessing over a “minor” joke just sort of skimmed over, but it’s so hilarious to me that I have to pause it to laugh for a while, or I’ll miss the rest of the scene.
Today, it was season 3, episode 17, “Catch 22.”
Jack’s not long back from The Others camp with Juliet and he’s playing ping-pong with Sawyer. Sawyer explains it’s the one from the hatch, and then dryly says “If we don’t play ping-pong every 108 minutes, the island explodes.”
It’s a tiny, minor joke. And I find it SO funny I can’t stop thinking about it! 😂 The way Josh Holloway delivers that line is just perfect, just charming, and sarcastic, and witty, and I’m still sitting here smiling at my phone as I type this.
